Pamela Devi Chandran is Legal Counsel to the United Nurses Associations of California/Union of Health Care Professionals, a union representing 42,000 bargaining unit members in California and Hawaii that, in 2025, lead the largest health care workers' strike in U.S. history. Pamela has been a union attorney for 20 years, largely as in-house counsel to health care workers unions. Before attending law school, she worked as a union organizer, based on a firm and continuing belief that fair and just workplaces provide opportunities for people to thrive.

She served as the union-side chair of the ABA’s Developing Labor Law committee and as editor for the Developing Labor Law treatise, and frequently speaks at labor and employment conferences. Additionally, Pamela served as the first ABA Section of Labor Employment’s DEI officer for the union/employee-side constituency and continues to be a strong advocate for diversity and equity in employment specifically and in the legal profession generally.

Pamela was honored to be a Wasserstein Fellow at Harvard Law School in 2024. She currently serves on the boards of the Wage Justice Center in Los Angeles, United Way of Pierce County in Western Washington state, and the Grand Cinema in Tacoma, Washington. She earned an AB from Dartmouth College, an MA in critical studies in cinema from the University of Southern California, and a JD from UCLA School of Law within the Epstein Program in Public Interest and Policy.
