The Institute
The Big Sky Labor and Employment Institute is a 501(c)(3) not for profit entity. The sole purpose of the Institute is to hold an annual conference in Big Sky, Montana. The objective of the Conference is to bring influential employee, employer, and neutral leaders together to discuss important labor and employment issues. Bringing such individuals together in a beautiful venue such as Big Sky, Montana is an excellent way to start meaningful discussion about solutions to some of the challenges facing our country today in the labor and employment area.

Lori King
Executive Director
The Big Sky Labor and Employment Institute
Lori is the founder/president of CHS Partners and works with clients across industries to promote positive employee experience and strengthen workplace environments. Her professional roles include experience from both perspectives of labor relations and span from frontline staff member to executive roles. In her professional roles, Lori has lobbied at the state and national level for issues in healthcare, negotiated state and national labor acquisitions, and negotiated employee contracts from both sides of the bargaining table.
Past professional roles for Lori include CEO of two state nurse associations - Montana and Ohio. She has also been adjunct nursing faculty at Carroll College in Helena, Montana.
Lori holds her doctorate in nursing practice and has maintained clinical practice as a primary care provider along with running her firm.
Roger King
Executive Director
The Big Sky Labor and Employment Institute
Roger is a retired Partner of the Jones Day Law Firm where his extensive private practice included representing employers throughout the United States on labor and employment matters. Prior to joining the Jones Day Law Firm, Roger served as Professional Staff Counsel to the United States Senate Labor Committee and as Legislative Counsel to Senator Robert Taft, Jr.
He is currently servicing as Senior Labor and Employment Counsel for the HR Policy Association, and has testified numerous times before committees of Congress. Roger has also been involved in important labor and employment litigation in the country, and served as Co-counsel in the landmark Noel Canning v. NLRB case. He is a graduate of Miami University and the Cornell University Law School.
