Ed Chambers

President United Food & Commercial Workers Union Local 1625 Florida Vice President, UFCW International

Ed Chambers began his career as a union organizer in Boston in 1978 with the Retail Clerks International Union (now the United Food & Commercial Workers Union).

Ed has assisted or coordinated numerous successful organizing victories including 6,000 retail workers in the Washington, DC area; 650 hospital employees in Cape May, NJ; units of 6,500 and 1,400 Disney employees in Orlando FL; 5,200 registered nurses in 26 NLRB and PERC elections in Washington State; 1,600+ registered nurses in St. Louis, MO and the 900 registered nurses and 500 technical employees at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in Florida.

In 1994, Ed became the National Health Care Organizing Coordinator for the UFCW International Union.

Since October 2000 Ed has served as President of UFCW Local 1625.  In 2012, Ed was elected President of the 55,000 member Service Trades Council Unions for Walt Disney World Resorts.

Ed was elected UFCW International Vice- President in 2019.

Ed and his wife, Susan, have been married for over 40 years and they have three children and three grandchildren.
