Catherine Fisk

Catherine Fisk is the Barbara Nachtrieb Armstrong Distinguished Professor of Law at the University of California, Berkeley, where she teaches courses on labor and employment law, civil procedure, and the legal profession. She has written books and articles on contemporary and historic aspects of labor law and worker organizing, civil liberties, civil rights, and the intersection of employment and intellectual property. Her forthcoming books are No Neutrals: Lawyers for the Twentieth Century Labor Movement (Cambridge University Press) and Speech@Work (Yale University Press). Her public and pro bono service includes serving on the boards of directors of California nonprofit organizations providing representation to workers and occasional work an arbitrator under collective bargaining agreements. She enjoys hiking, literary fiction, travel, and cooking. She is a graduate of Princeton University and the University of California, Berkeley. Fisk and her husband have four adult children, three grandchildren, and a goldendoodle.
